What test score do you need for UNR? ›

Standardized test scores are not required for admission to the University of Nevada, Reno. The University accepts the ACT and SAT scores and may use scores for class placement in first-year courses.

A 2.0 in any given semester as well as a cumulative 2.0 on all University work.

Applications for admission are reviewed when they are complete. A complete application is one which includes official transcripts from each institution the applicant attended previously. A final decision will be made on each complete application within 10 business days of receipt of the last official transcript.

Remember: all students are required to complete a minimum of 120 credits to graduate, 40 credits of Upper Division (300-499) numbered coursework altogether and 30 credits in-residence at the University.

In December, it was announced the University was classified as an “R1” institution by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.

Students may repeat a maximum of 30 credits(100-400 level) to replace original University of Nevada, Reno grades.

The 6-year graduation rate is 63%, again placing the university in the top 40%.

Fifteen (15) University credits per semester is considered full-time for undergraduate students and nine (9) University credits per semester is considered full-time for graduate students.

Each commencement ceremony lasts approximately two hours.
