The Devil Conspiracy Reviews
Carla Hay Culture Mix
The Devil Conspiracy is a bombastic train wreck of a horror movie with an onslaught of bad acting and stupid scenarios. It's a weak ripoff of ideas from Rosemary's Baby and Legion, but with the setting in Italy, instead of New York City or Los Angeles.

The Devil Conspiracy, like many of its faith-based cinematic relatives, is a disappointingly bland take on a subject that has many unexplored possibilities.

Sadly, I was disappointed in The Devil Conspiracy. It felt like it had a bunch of interesting and downright unique ideas, but couldn’t really get any to stick, let alone stick that landing

The Devil Conspiracy rarely looks cheap (often the opposite), ultimately delivering a bizarrely admirable mix of genres, tropes, and ideas, all accomplished with a self-seriousness bordering on camp, intentional or otherwise.

Wastes its unique setup with a dull and noncommittal follow-through, pulling punches just when it was getting interesting.

2023 already has a candidate for the most off-the-rails goofball plot of the year which would be a plus in some circles if the film was also not visually ugly and morally unpleasant in its treatment of women.

If The Devil Conspiracy had let its wild approach to Christianity run free, it could have been much more memorable than it currently is.

Pure, unabashed, unapologetic nonsense. And I loved it.

This generously-budgeted/no-“name” stars horror epic is just all over the place; never quite serious, never remotely silly enough.

This horror/thriller starts with a preposterous idea and runs with it full-steam ahead. The Devil Conspiracy takes itself dead seriously and is burdened with poor filmmaking that's often too dark or too noisy.

The possibilities are endless with such a nutty plot, so it’s frustrating that The Devil Conspiracy is limited and generic in scope

Despite the elaborately mystical and bizarre workings of the narrative here, a lot of the plotting is unfortunately pedestrian.

For those of a certain age, who cut their teeth on terrible creature features and bloated blockbusters at the turn of the century, The Devil Conspiracy will offer a kind of twisted nostalgia.

It’s not Christian entertainment, and it’s not a big-budget undertaking, with the feature more of a bizarre take on biblical fury that’s never as awesome as Alan intends it to be.

The Devil Conspiracy is a high-concept religious action flick with horror influences that sells its ambitions short but still entertains despite itself.

A lackluster, cringe-inducing and tedious mess that's low on thrills, scares and intrigue. Perhaps it would work better as a video game than a movie.

Like a cross between Rosemary’s Baby, The Exorcist, and Blade: Trinity (yes, the bad one), The Devil Conspiracy is so confounding, it’s hard to imagine how someone managed to get financing for such an epic disaster.

The movie is preposterous, and ludicrous, and heavy-handed, and patently absurd. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it precisely for those reasons.
